Marie Bozard Hamrick, Orlando, went home to be with the Lord on August 16, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with ALS. She was the daughter of Connie and the late Johnny Bozard. Marie was born in Montgomery, AL on March 19, 1945. She received her Bachelors Degree from Stetson University and her Masters Degree from Rollins College. She was an educator and taught elementary school in Lake County and in Orange County. Since 1993, she served as the Academic Director of Circle Christian School and retired because of her illness.
In addition to teaching, Marie also served in various churches in Florida as the Youth and Music director at Blake Memorial Baptist Church in Lake Helen, First Baptist Church in Umatilla, Main Street Baptist Church in Leesburg, First Baptist Church of Tavares, and First Baptist Church of Mt. Dora. She was an accomplished musician and loved to play the piano. She was currently a member of The Orlando Prayer and Worship Center.
Marie is survived by her husband, James (Jeff), her mother, Connie Bozard, son Jason (Jennifer), and grandchildren, Claudia, Olivia, Jacob, Nicholas, and Noah. She is also survived by her brother, John Bozard (Orlando), and her sister Jan Latour (Clearwater) as well as many nieces and nephews.
