Marilyn K. Butler, age 73, of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2019. She was the loving wife of Frank M. Butler.
Marilyn was born on July 2, 1946 in Port Huron, MI and was the daughter of Bruno and Leone (Nelson) Hellman. After high school, she moved to Washington, DC and began a civil service career that lasted 40 years. She was a longtime Civil Service Project Manager with the United States Navy until her retirement in in 2005. A Swedish naval corvette class of ships designated as the Visby was designed and built under a project name of "Project Marilyn" in honor of her help and assistance on this project.
She married Frank Butler in 1992 and both are devout Christians. Her love of Jesus and constant faith helped her throughout her life. Her generosity, positive attitude and gift of encouragement made her a beacon of light. She loved card playing, Coney Island hot dogs, realtor.com, lottery scratchers, movies, basketball, pedicures and most of all, being with Frank and her family.
Besides her husband of 26 years, Marilyn is survived by her step daughter Caroline Butler of Arlington, VA; two grandchildren, Clyde and Claire Iazzetta; her sister, Karen Stout of Orlando, FL; three nieces: Kathy and Karen ReVoir of Orlando, FL and Kim Matlock (Mark Matlock) of Venice, FL; one nephew: Gary ReVoir of Orlando, FL; and many extended family members.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 5873 N. Dean Road, Orlando, with Rev. John Lipscomb officiating.
Burial will follow on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, FL.
