Marilyn Frances Smith (McCarren), 87, of Orlando, Florida, formerly of Lincoln Park and Eatontown N.J., and Hampstead, N.C. passed away peacefully Sunday, June 19th, at Life Care Center of Orlando.
Marilyn was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Packanack Lake as a teen. She was a stewardess for Eastern Airlines where she met her husband Harry. They were married in 1951. After raising their three children, Marilyn and Harry embarked on a new adventure, retiring to Hampstead, NC to live at Olde Point and enjoy their favorite pastime of golf.
Marilyn was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Harry J. Smith Sr., in 2005, her parents Marguerite Lyons McCarren and James J. McCarren II, and her brother James J. McCarren III. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Brown and her husband, Charles, of Ocean Township, NJ; Alison Ells and her husband, Mark, of Bricktown, NJ; her son, Harry J. Smith Jr. and his wife, Diana, of Orlando, Fl. She was the proud grandmother of Christopher and Matthew Brown, Marilyn and Shannon Ells, Devin and Taylor Smith and a great-granddaughter, Caitlyn Brown. She is also survived by her brother Jack McCarren, of Sussex, NJ and her sister-in-law Arlene McCarren, of Clifton NJ. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at St. Dominic's Church, 250 Old Squan Rd. Bricktown, NJ. Internment to follow at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls NJ.
