Mark Waid

Mark Virgil Waid was born in West Palm Beach ,Florida to Howard A. Waid and Sylvia C. (Delo)Waid (both deceased) on December 12th 1964 . The family moved to North East, Pa when he was young where they resided for 9 years. He resided in Warner Robins, Ga for six years until moving to Dublin. Ga. He lived in Florida for a while until he moved to Louisville, Ky. for eight years .When his beloved girlfriend Dawn passed away from cancer he came back to Florida and moved in with his older sister, Pam Davis.
Mark spent most of his life as a painter, industrial as well as commercial. His love was painting and it came naturally to him. He was also an excellent cook and manager in the hospitality industry where he worked for Huddle House and Waffle House as well. Whichever job he was performing he did it with perfection.
Mark was married to Joann Grace until she passed away from kidney failure. They had a baby girl who died an hour after birth. Mark never remarried but later had two sons, Mark Virgil Waid ,Jr. and Nicolas Waid, born in Dublin, Ga. whom he has been estranged from since he had a heart attack at 39 in Louiseville, Ky. He also had a sister named Adrienne Marie Waid who passed away at the age of 36. He also has an older brother Howard Zang, and two sisters, Carrie Parker and Lynn Hooks-Krattiger all originally from West Palm Beach, Fl. from his father's first marriage. He met his two sisters at the age of 12 but unfortunately never had the opportunity to meet his brother.
Mark was unable to continue his professions after he had an aneurism surgery which left him "neurologically impaired." He enjoyed working in the yard for people just to have something to do. Mark always loved to have fun and joke with people. His favorite hobbies were fishing, especially cat fishing and building models of ships and planes. He would give you his last dollar if you needed it more than him.
Mark passed away on June 6, 2015 at his home with his sister Pam Davis by his side. The cause of death was heart attack due to coronary artery disease. He was cremated on June 23, 2015. A memorial service will be held at a future date at his sister Pam's home.
Mark was always there for me as I was for him. We fought, but always made up. We have so many fun memories together and they will keep him alive in my mind forever. He always acted like he was an older brother rather than my younger one. He loved to give my dates a hard time even making some of them leave. We had fun torturing our younger sister but she always retaliated. The three of us were very close and my life will forever have an empty place in my life where they were. Have fun with the family until I can join you. When someone asks me how it feels now that you are gone I will say, "He's not gone. He's gone fishing." It will be true because you will be with dad fishing in that big pond in Heaven together. Thank you for being such a great brother. I love you and look forward to seeing you again.
