Martha Ghirghi

Martha Ghirghi was born in São Paulo, Brazil, daughter to Justin and Anastacia Galchin, both immigrants from Eastern Europe. Perhaps inspired by their journey, she braved the unknown to seek a new life and adventure, coming to the United States in 1960 to prepare the way for her younger brothers and sisters to follow. Future husband of 58 years, Pedro Ghirghi would also make the journey and reunite with his love.

As she did those many years ago, she faced each challenge with unassuming grace and strength including raising her son Peter and daughter Noemi. She volunteered for her neighborhood association and lent a helping hand to friends and neighbors, fulfilled her love of travel by visiting many an exotic locale, and celebrated life with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Please treasure her memory with every sunflower that smiles, every gentle ocean breeze and sun that rises.
