GRIMME, Martha Louise Taylor, 85, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2017 in Indianapolis, IN. She was born October 28, 1931 in Blytheville, AR to the late William K. Taylor and Mary Louise Baker Taylor. She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Brooks H. Grimme; her brother, Billy K. Taylor; and sisters Mary Ethel Simmons, Rebecca Cooper, and Jewel Brown.
Martha lived in Orlando for 50 years before relocating with her daughter to Indianapolis last year where her daughter lovingly cared for her in home until her passing. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Grimme Collie; her son Brooks Gary Grimme (Susan); grandchildren Rob Collie, Brent Collie, Lauren Collie, Scott Grimme, Steven Grimme and Christopher Grimme; 6 great grandchildren; and her dear nephew, Bill Simmons (Peggy), TN.
Martha had a career as a PBX telephone operator. She was on board the first opening days of the Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World in 1971, cheerfully answering guest calls. Other than her family, her greatest joy was her dogs.
A visitation will be held from 9 am to 10 am, Monday, January 30th at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S Goldenrod Rd., Orlando, FL with a Celebration of her life to follow at 12:30 pm at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
