Martha Ida Yeager Barnett Marsh, age 92, went to her Heavenly rest on November 24, 2018. Martha was born on October 25, 1926 in Oliveburg, Pennsylvania to Carl and Myrtle Yeager. She is predeceased by her parents, brothers Vern, Walter, William, Carl Jr., and John Yeager, sisters Jean Depp, Dorothy Miller and Esther Snyder; first husband Donald J. Barnett and second husband Nathan L. Marsh.
A wonderful mother, she was known for having a warm and welcoming home, and there was always a gathering of friends and family enjoying home-made pizza, music and good times. With family already in Florida, Martha decided that the warm weather of the Sunshine State was appealing and moved from Pennsylvania to the Maitland area in 1982.
Martha loved the beach and spent many long vacations on the sunny beaches of the Gulf of Mexico with her close friends, writing stories and keeping journals of their adventures. She was a very artistic person, and taught herself to paint. Her home was adorned by paintings of palm trees and tropical landscapes she had created. She was talented in many pursuits: sewing, quilting, macramé, crafts, cooking and baking. Martha enjoyed card games and played in 2 card groups.
Most important to Martha was her strong faith in God and the belief that with God's help, any adversity would be handled with a good outcome. During many times of duress, her faith saw her through. She was committed to her family, fostered gatherings and reminded everyone of the importance of staying in touch. With her enduring faith, she knew that through the love of Jesus Christ, she would be reunited with her family.
Martha is survived by her sons Vaughn (Jo Lynn) Barnett ,Altamonte Springs, FL; Steve (Yonna) Barnett, Palm Bay, FL; Mark (Traci) Barnett, Middletown, OH; grandchildren Tracey (Simon) Scurrah, Ericca Barnett, Joseph Barnett and Matthew (Danielle) Barnett; great-grandchild Nicholas Scurrah, Jr.
