Martha Ann Myers

December 12, 1932 — December 12, 1932

Martha Ann Myers of Casselberry, Fla., passed away Feb. 21, 2022 at the age of 89.

She was born Dec. 12, 1932, in New Castle, Pa., to William and Anna (Grieder) Elmore. The family later moved to Dravosburg, Pa., where her father worked in the steel mills.

After graduating from McKeesport High School, Martha enrolled in the nursing program at McKeesport Hospital.

While she was in nursing school, Martha met her future husband, William Myers. After marrying, the couple lived in Long Beach, Ca., where William was stationed with the U.S. Navy.

Martha and William returned to the Pittsburgh area, where they raised their three children, Valerie, Cheryl and Dean.

Martha worked as a registered nurse at McKeesport Hospital for many years. In the 1980s, Martha worked as a visiting nurse—providing patients' care in their homes throughout the McKeesport and Greensburg areas.

Family and faith were of utmost importance to Martha. She was active in her church, taught a women's Sunday school class, and modeled Christ's compassion and love to all of those she met. Martha also enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends.

In 1989, Martha and William moved to Casselberry, where she worked for the Visiting Nurse Association in Central Florida.

Martha retired about 20 years ago, and she and William spent their golden years traveling and spending time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They enjoyed taking cruises from the tropics to Alaska, and also took their camper cross-country, stopping at national parks and other landmarks along the way.

Martha was an avid reader and talented seamstress, but most of all, will be remembered for her tender spirit, generosity, love of family and love of the Lord.
She is predeceased by her parents and brother William J. Elmore Jr. She is survived by her husband, William; children Valerie (Wayne) Pavlischek, Cheryl (Ed) Pavuk, and Dean (Jill) Myers; grandchildren Amy (Chris) Gentry, Kimberley (Dan) Caskie, Bethany (Jeremy) Hancock, Josh (Emily) Pavlischek, Wayne (Christine) Pavlischek, Morgan Myers and Brooke Wilkinson; and 10 great-grandchildren.
