Martha Rosa Vazquez

January 23, 1941 — January 4, 2021

In Loving Memory of
Martha Rosa Vazquez Antuna ("Esther")
1941 – 2021
"As she loved, so was she loved"
Martha Rosa Vazquez Antuna, affectionally known as "Esther", of Orlando, Florida, was welcomed into heaven on Monday, January 4th, 2021, at age of 79. Esther was born to parents Miguel Angel Antuna and Maria Concepcion Velazquez on January 23rd, 1940 in Patillas, Puerto Rico, and had sixteen siblings.
As the second oldest, she often looked after her younger siblings and worked as a nanny for a family in Puerto Rico, before moving to Brooklyn, New York, in the late 1960s. On January 23rd, 1971, she married Flor Vazquez, and had two daughters, Janette and Martha (Tata). Flor and Esther were married for 49 years. While in Brooklyn, she worked as a seamstress and enjoyed raising her daughters. Esther also welcomed Paul Harris and Wendy Harris into the family and became like a second mother to them. In 1986, Flor and Esther started a new chapter in life when they relocated to Orlando, Florida. In addition to raising her daughters, Esther also became a second mother to her nephew, Pedro David Serrano, after the passing of his mother, Angelita Antuna, Esther's younger sister. In Orlando, Esther worked in hospitality until 1993, when she became a stay-at-home grandmother to her first-born grandson, Hector.
Esther was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, who loved and doted on her family and friends unconditionally. Esther loved cooking, music, dancing, being with family, and watching her children, nieces, and nephews laughing and spending time together. Esther will forever be remembered as a selfless, loving, affectionate woman, dedicated above all else, to her family. Esther touched everyone's heart with her sweet and gentle nature and will be greatly missed.
Esther is survived by her husband, Flor Vazquez; daughters, Janette Driesslein and Martha Vazquez; her grandchildren, Hector, Serina, Joseph, and Evangelina; and siblings Fernando Antuna, Pedro Antuna, Sally Montanez, Israel Antuna, Ramon Luis Antuna, and Adelina antuna.
