Mary A Bragg

Mary Bragg (nee Catapano), 88, of Red Hook, NY, passed away peacefully accompanied by her loved ones on December 31, 2024, after a 5 year battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on May 27, 1936, and attended & graduated Tilden High School. 

She married Al on September 30, 1956, and they raised their family in Brooklyn, NY. 

She worked as a bookkeeper for Metropolitan Life prior to becoming a mom; then in 1973, she began working at Macys until her retirement. 

They retired to Red Hook, NY ,where she was active in the Red Hook Fire Company Ladies  Auxiliary. 

Her passion was cooking, baking, and candy making. No Christmas was complete without her stash of cookies, which she proudly shared with all her loved ones. She was so creative and talented, which she channeled into crocheting, sewing & crafting.

She was happiest spending time with her family. She was supportive, caring, loving with a great sense of humor. 

She is survived by her four children, Michael & his wife Nancy, Thomas, Mary Jo & her husband José, Jo-Ann & her husband Louis; five  grandchildren, Frank, John, Victoria, Joey & C.J; and give great-grand children.

She was preceeded in death by her husband of 68 years, Al; parents; and three younger siblings, Ursula, Blanche & Phillip.
