Mary Frances Wright passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the age of 75. She was born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania on August 13, 1936 to Thomas Carey & Loretta Burke Carey. Her final moments were spent in her home with her loving husband George Wright and her five children: Michael Wright, Kathy Gover, Karen Irwin, Patricia Hotaling and James Wright.
A dedicated and caring teacher, Mary touched the lives of many students in her years as an English teacher and Assistant Principal at Good Shepherd Catholic School. Never willing to accept anything less than the best, Mrs. Wright taught her students more than grammar lessons – she taught the power of perseverance and the value of true kindness.
Mary was a loving mother of five and cherished grandmother of sixteen that often found it difficult to distinguish her children from her grandchildren. Her unselfish and profound love of family knew no boundaries. As her family mourns this great loss, there is comfort in knowing she has been raised up on eagles' wings as an angel of Heaven.
"May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and rain fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of His hand."
