Mary Elizabeth Hannah, age 82, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at AdventHealth Hospital South in Orlando.
She was born on June 19, 1941 in Charleston, SC, daughter to her late parents, Jabez Farris and Meta Alcine (Myers) Cato. Mary Elizabeth was a graduate of Valencia College where she received an Associates' Degree in business. She worked for General Electric, Dayron, and later Walgreen's Distribution for over 20 years before her retirement.
She was a member of Dover Shores Baptist Church in Orlando while also serving as a Sunday School teacher and ran the food pantry. Mary Elizabeth was an accomplished bowler, enjoyed going to the beach, but most of all, spending time with her family was her favorite pastime.
Mary Elizabeth is survived by her five daughters, Virginia Gale Adams and her husband, Rhett; Patricia Robinson and her husband, Tony; Valery Runkles and her husband, Kenny; Roberta Jean Vahdatpour and her husband, Mansour; and Mary Everidge and her husband, Steve; nine grandchildren, Steven Durbin and his wife, Amanda; Wendy Durbin and her husband, Jesse; Anthony Durbin and his wife, Kathy; Tenille Hemp, Patrick Robinson and his wife Kelsey; Ryan Cook and his wife, Erika; Jena Vahdatpour and her husband, Daniel; Elizabeth Shevah Vahdatpour-Owragi and he husband, Mielad; and Dillon Everidge and his wife, Shea; twenty great-grandchildren, Steven "SteSte" Durbin, Jr., Brady Durbin, Brittany Parker, Kimmy Eubanks, Tyler Eubanks, Mason Mulligan, Madison Mulligan, Anthony "AJ" Durbin, Jr., Alyssa Durbin, Ashton Durbin, Aythan Durbin, Evianna Durbin, Miller Hemp, Ellie Grace Robinson, Maddox Robinson, William Cook, Peter Cook, Max Cook, Evan Goemer, and Ava Everidge; one great great-grandchild, Brody Spencer; a brother, Curtis Cato; two sisters, Roberta Parker, and Brenda Thompson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband and father of their children, Frank J. Adams; her second husband, Richard Hannah; three brothers, Farris Cato, Derriel Cato, and Francis Cato; and two sisters, Tlene Smith, and, Ophelia Bodin; and a daughter, Ramona Fay Adams.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 11:00 am at Dover Shores Baptist Church, 551 Gaston Foster Rd, Orlando, FL 32807 with Pastor Danny Strickland officiating.
Inurnment will take place at a later date at the family cemetery in Droze Cemetery, Goose Creek, SC.
