Mary Dee Corbett

February 4, 1946 — June 7, 2021

Mary Dee Corbett (Hare), 75, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2021, after a long battle with COPD.

She was born in Saint Louis Missouri on February 4, 1946 the daughter of Louis Jerry Hare Sr. and Eva Vernadine Gibson. She grew up in Maryland, relocating to Orlando Florida at the age of 15. In 1963 she married and started a family with Dwight W. Corbett. She was very hard working starting a career in housekeeping at an Orlando hotel. She soon realized that her dream was to own her own business doing private home cleaning, and for many years she happily raised her children while working hard to provide for all of their needs.

To say Mary was passionate about hunting is an understatement, hunting was part of her soul. In the early 90's, she bought into a hunting camp located in Georgia where she would retreat to almost every weekend. She was very proud of her hunting skills and proudly displayed her trophies on the walls in her home. Fishing was also a passion of hers, as a young mother she spent many hours on the end of the dock in Edgewater Florida fishing with her three boys. Even as her health declined, her passion for fishing did not die. Although she struggled to breath, she could still be found sitting on the bank of the river fishing and telling fish stories with her son Eric.

Gardening was also something that she enjoyed. Whether it be a small box or a large bed, she always had a garden in every place she lived. Towards the end, her gardens grew smaller and smaller, but her friends and neighbors could still count on fresh vegetables from time to time.

Mary's interests varied but generally she loved anything outdoors. Most importantly, Mary loved her family and visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary is survived by two of her sons; Darrell William Corbett and Eric Douglas Corbett, her grandchildren; Christina Ann Smith and husband Brian Smith, Michael Corbett, Kaley Ann Rebecca Corbett, and Patricia Rose Corbett, great-grandchildren; Shea Jackson Smith, Carter Eli Smith, Juliet Rose Smith, and Easton Howard Nicholas Paulettew.

Mary is predeceased by her eldest son Howard Wendell Corbett.
