Mary Ruth Dampier

In deepest loving memory, Mary Ruth Dampier, a devoted mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26th 2024.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Lee Dampier, daughter Jacqueline D. Bullard, her brothers John Kennard, Wilbur Whitaker, sister Inez Reiner, and her parents Warnie Grady Whittaker and Nobie Lanier.

She is survived by her son, Gregory Lee Dampier (Marion Tonner), daughter Michelle Dusha Christoph (Dr. Jim Christoph), brother Clarence Kennard, as well as her grandchildren Eric Bullard, Ashley Bullard, and Elijah Stone, along with three great-grandchildren and many
nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ruth (she was quick to mention she dropped the "Mary" in grade school) was a devoted wife as the family of five moved around Europe due to her husband's career in the United States Air Force. When he retired, they settled in their hometown of Lake Wales, Florida where she
continued to live until moving to Grand Villa Assisted Living in Altamonte Springs in 2018.While there, she made many friends and served as a Resident Ambassador, orienting new residents to the community. Her quick wit and humor was a joy to all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 12th 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home (3806 Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park, FL 32792) and the memorial service will follow at 11 am at the same location. A reception will immediately follow the memorial service at her daughter, Michelle's home.

Visitation is Monday, February 12, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with memorial service starting at 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (Winter Park Chapel).
