Mary E. Mattox

Mattox, Mary Estelle Champion- Age 79, of Orlando, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2004. She was born on August 4, 1925 in Anniston, Alabama to William Henry Champion and Rosa C. Tolbert. She lived in Anniston and Talladega most of her life and attended school there. She married Lewis Eugene Mattox (Lt. USN; Ret.) of Indianapolis, Indiana. She is survived by her two sons, Lewis, of Orlando and William and his wife Robyn of Clermont; daughter, Joyce Stover of Orlando; grandsons, Aaron Stover, Bobby Mattox, Thomas (T.J.) Mattox, Christopher Mattox. Granddaughters, Traci Meeker and her husband Jeffrey, and Marisa Mattox; two great-grandsons, Preston and Evan; brother, William C. (Bud) Champion and his wife, Alice; niece, Marsha, great-nephew, Isiah. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Lewis, in 1976, and by her daughter Diane in 1994. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 26, 2004 in the Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando.
