MARY ESTINE BOUNDS WIMBROW

Memorial services will be held at a later date at the Greenbackville Union United Methodist Church by the Rev. David R.Chew for Mary Estine Bounds Wimbrow, 80, of Orlando, Florida, who died of ovarian cancer.

She was a retired Medical Secretary and Doctor's Assistant; Vascular Specialist, in Winter Haven, Florida; and was also Vice-President & Secretary of the Green Back Canning Company, Greenbackville, Virginia.

Born in Upland, Pennsylvania, October 5, 1929, she was the second of five children of the late Preston William Bounds, and Mildred Estine Fauver Bounds. She is survived by three sisters, Ruth Edna Bounds Pusey; Frances Emily Bounds Stevens; and Doris Anne Bounds Bowen. Mary was preceded in death by her older brother, Preston William "Bubby" Bounds, Jr.

During her years living in Snow Hill, Maryland, she was a member of the Disciples Of Christ, Christian Church, Snow Hill from 1932 to 1956; and the Whatcoat Methodist Church, Snow Hill from 1956 to 1969. Moving to Winter Haven, Florida in 1970, she was immediately baptized into the First Baptist Church, Winter Haven, 1970 to 1973. This church grew, divided, and included the Calvary Baptist Church, Winter Haven, Florida 1973-present.

After graduating Snow Hill High School in 1946, she graduated Pre-Nursing, Salisbury State College Salisbury, Md., and continued in the field of Nurses Training.

She was a member of the Snow Hill Ladies Bridge Club (bi-monthly), Couples Bridge Club (monthly), Bowling League 1958-1968, member & Vice-President of the Snow Hill, Maryland Soroptimist Club 1961-1968; 1st place winner of the Edison Bridge Tournament, 1956, Fort Myers, Florida; and Vice President of sophomore year, Snow Hill High School. In 1997 she wrote and published a book about her childhood experiences growing up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Survived by her husband of 61 years, John Paul Wimbrow, Sr., born July 7, 1922, and three children, James Richard Wimbrow of Winter Haven, FL; Lois Ann Wimbrow Rogers of Haleiwa, HI; and John Paul Wimbrow, Jr. of Greenbackville, VA; her grand-children, Wendy Erin Wimbrow Laforest (John Michael Laforest), Knoxville, TN Angela Dawn Mears Wimbrow Lambe (David R. "Scott" Lambe, II), Newberry, FL, Jamie Elizabeth Wimbrow, Kassie Shine Rogers, Kamuela, HI, Nessa Pelelehuia Rogers Richardson, Ned Wesley Pueokalewa Rogers and Sarah Rose Rogers Lyons (Henrick Wiinstedt Lyons), Makawao, HI; five great-grandchildren, Bailey Brooke Richardson, William John "Will" LaForest, Nathan Laforest, David Angelis Lambe and Cordelia Elizabeth Lambe.
