Mary Martha Kendrick, 69, Kingsport, Tennessee, died Friday, July 14, 2023, at South Lake Hospital in Clermont.
She was a lifelong resident of East Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Elsie Hayes Kendrick.
She graduated from East Tennessee State University with a degree in Journalism. She was employed by the Carroll Reece Museum and Johnson City Press before early retirement, due to her health.
Mary was a firm believer in Jesus Christ and accepted him as her savior.
Mary loved to travel. She especially enjoyed the cruises she took with her brother and mother. She loved the many adventures they enjoyed together.
Some of her adventures include: Riding a camel into the sunset, dipping her fingers into the waters in the cave of Hercules, staring in wonder at Michelangelo's David and the Book of Kells, barreling down a mountain in a basket cart, shopping at the Grand Bazar in Istanbul, walking on the streets of Pompeii, visiting the site of the first Olympics, strolling through Rome on the arms of a singing tour guide, driving through Patagonia in the dead of night to visit a penguin colony, hot air ballooning and canoeing down a river.
She will be sorely missed.
Survivors included her brother, Jerry P. Kendrick, Orlando; her Aunt Reva H. Jones, several cousins and special friends; and her special fur baby, Pajan.
