Mary-Martha "Doc" Armstrong Taylor, 82, of Longwood, Florida passed away on November 5, 2018 at Longwood Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born November 20, 1935 in New York City to the late Dwight L. and Marion A. Armstrong of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Doc attended the Chatham Hall School of Chatham, Virginia, the Lancaster Country Day School, and graduated from the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, New York. After graduation from Dobbs, she attended secretarial school in New York City.
After school, she married the late Fletcher G. Taylor and moved to Framingham, Massachusetts where she started her family. From there she moved to Jamestown, New York and eventually in 1984 she moved to Longwood, Florida, where she lived from the rest of her life, enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son; her sisters Mary Parker Armstrong and Charlotte A. Wank; son-in-law Mark A. Pettit; daughter-in-law Diane Taylor; grandchildren Richard Douglas and Dawna LaMay; and longtime family companion Mary Jakob.
She is survived by her children Wendy A. Pettit and Carlos Crispin, Fletcher G. Taylor of Longwood, Florida, and Rachel A. Taylor and Thomas Beebe of Apopka, Florida. Grandchildren Heather (David) DeCosta, Cassie Pettit and Jonathan Gilstrap, and Jason Pettit, Joseph Gilbert, all of Florida, and William (Nicci) Taylor of North Carolina. 7 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Rylie, and Harper DeCosta, Rick Douglas, Joe Jorge, and Aiden and Caitlin Taylor; brother Andrew J. Armstrong and several nieces and nephews.
Instead of a funeral, her family and friends will be having an 83rd birthday party on November 20th in her home.
