Mary Magdalen Tanner
January 13, 1927 — May 2, 2022
Mary Magdalen Johnson Tanner of Winter Park, FL joined her Heavenly Father on Monday, May 2nd. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family.
Born on January 13, 1927, in Miami, FL, Mary later graduated from Gesu Parish School in 1945, and worked as a telephone operator before marrying her beloved husband, over 70-years ago.
Mary is survived by 10 of her 11 children, 24 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Mary's Catholic faith was a central tenant of her life, and she made many sacrifices to enable all their children to attend parochial schools. To all who knew her, Mary was a devout follower of Christ, who poured her life into nurturing family and friends.
Visitation is Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (Winter Park Chapel).
Mass and Catholic Burial is Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 10am at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 526 N. Park Avenue, Winter Park, Florida 32789. A brief reception will follow at the church after the service.
Interment will follow at 2pm at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Orlando, FL 2400 Harrell Road, Orlando, FL.
