Mattie M. Phills

Mattie M. Phills, 77 of Orlando passed away Sunday, April 8, 2007. Born in Whittaker, North Carolina, she moved to Central Florida in 1994. She was a retired Nurse and professional seamstress who loved to cook. She attended Faith Assembly of God Church in Orlando and worked as a street Evangelist in New York where she worked with many prison Chaplains and fed and clothed many homeless people. She also did a radio Ministry with Rev. R.T. Davis of The Church of Healing and Prosperity-"Kingdom Prayer Line" on 94.5FM here in Orlando.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Balfour Phills of Orlando; son, Jose Morales of New York; daughter, Annette Phills of Orlando; son, John Phills of Orlando; sisters, Beatrice McGahee of Milwaukee, WI; Alberta Williams and Josephine McPherson both of New York; grandchildren, Derric McCarter of Orlando and Jessica Morales of New York.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 13, 2007 in the Chapel of Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00-8:00 PM.
