Maureen C Flood of Orlando, passed away January 11th, after a brief illness at the age of 87.
Maureen was born in Manchester England on July 7th 1930. Maureen met her husband, John Flood, (JJ), in England and they married in 1959.
Maureen enjoyed entertaining, socializing with her friends, (The Diva's), and playing the card game Spite and Malice. She worked at Eckerd Drugs warehouse in Central Park from where she retired. Maureen was a loved baking and was an excellent baker and pastry chef. Her sausage rolls were a staple at all family gatherings and parties.
Maureen was preceded in death by her husband, John. She is survived by her daughters Moyia, (David), Susan, (Ken), and 5 wonderful grandchildren.
Maureen spent her final days in ICU at ORMC, and Cornerstone Hospice at ORMC. A special thank you to Meg (best friend) and Don Margoli and Juan Ramon Portillo (Ralph), for always being there for her. We would also like to thank, Kathy, with Cornerstone Hospice, who told us as we were sleeping in Mom's room with her that the end was very near. We were able to wake up and hold our Mom's hand as she passed to join our Dad in heaven on what would have been his 91st birthday. We know in our hearts that it was the best birthday present he ever could have received. Maureen in being cremated at Newcomer funeral home.
