Mercedes Rodriguez

Mercedes Rodriguez Perez was a loving mother and grandmother. She passed away peacefully October 26th after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She spent most of her life working and taking care of her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. 

Mercedes was born in Cuba into a large family of seven siblings. Three of her siblings survive her. Mercedes had two children, a son and a daughter, both of whom survive her. She impacted the lives of many people outside of her family. In her youth she worked at a small store and when she immigrated to the United States in her older years she dedicated herself to raising her grandchildren. Occasionally she also took on babysitting duties for other children who also came to see her as a grandmother figure. In life Mercedes’ hobbies were sewing, gardening, reading, watching soap operas, and singing. She was a lively and caring woman that will be missed by many.
