Michael D. Barton, of Orlando, was born on June 19, 1962, in Germany, and passed away on October 26, 2024, in Orlando, FL.
Michael dedicated his working career to the hospitality industry, wherein he honed his skills across various roles with numerous hotel companies. His commitment to excellence and service was a testament to his passionate nature, leaving a lasting impression on colleagues and guests alike.
An alum of Thompson High School in Thompson, GA, Michael graduated in the Class of 1980, where he distinguished himself as a talented athlete. He pitched for his high school team and notably delivered a one-hitter, showcasing his dedication and skill in baseball from an early age.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Michael embraced life with an invigorating spirit. He found joy in golf and bowling, enjoying both the competition and camaraderie those activities fostered. A true sports enthusiast, he was a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves, often expressing his pride and excitement for their games.
Michael leaves behind his cherished family, which includes his sister, Wanda Nantka, and her husband, Timothy, as well as his sister, Jennie Burgstahler, and her husband, Dennis. He is also remembered fondly by five beloved nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, Danny.
He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Benjamin Barton; his mother, Carolyn (Tucker) Barton; and his sister, Deborah Lowery. Their memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who survive him.
Michael’s legacy is one of dedication, spirit, and love for both family and friends. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
