It is with a heavy heart that I share the sad news of the passing of Michael Patrick McCluskey, age 66, who left us peacefully at home on December 28, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 17, 1958, in Baltimore, Mike lived a life filled with passion, love, and a commitment to those he cared about.
Mike was not just a beloved husband to his wife, Beth Bichler, but also a devoted father to his children, Jayson McCluskey and his wife Jackie, and Michael R. McCluskey. He found joy in being a grandfather to his granddaughter, Jayden McCluskey, who brought immense happiness into his life. Mike's family meant the world to him, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
In addition to his family, Mike was an enthusiastic amateur radio operator (KG4VYX), connecting with people from all over the globe. He had a passion for mechanics and often spent his time tinkering and working on various projects. His love for the Florida Gators football team was unwavering, and he enjoyed watching their games, cheering them on with fervor.
Mike's legacy of love will forever resonate in the hearts of his family members. He is survived by his loving wife, children, and granddaughter, as well as his sisters: Barbara Quinn (Kevin), Margie Terry (Bill), Nancy Sexton, Patsy Tompkins (Stephen Erskin), and Debbie Fuller (Anthony). He also leaves behind his brothers: John McCluskey (Betty) and Sean McCluskey (Kim), along with a large number of nieces and nephews who adored him.
Though he is predeceased by his mother, Margret McCluskey, and his father, John McCluskey, Mike's spirit will continue to live on through the many lives he touched. He was a cherished member of our family, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. We will always remember his strength, kindness, and the warmth he brought into our lives.
Cancer is a relentless adversary, and it has taken someone so dear to us far too soon. We are heartbroken, but we find comfort in the memories we shared with Mike and the love he gave so freely. We will honor his memory by remembering the joyful moments, the laughter, and the lessons he imparted.
A private gathering with family and friends will be held in his memory, where we can come together to celebrate his life and share our favorite stories about him.
Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Let us remember Mike with love and gratitude for the time we had with him.
