Michael T. Palfy, age 64, of Kissimmee passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Osceola Regional Medical Center in Kissimmee, FL.
Michael was born on October 22, 1955 in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late George, Sr. and Bernadine (Dimerling) Palfy.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Taylor Palfy and her fiancé, Nathan Durazzo, of Orlando, FL; two sisters, Mary Palfy of Pittsburgh, and Elizabeth Palfy of Atlanta, GA; three nieces, Sherri Shelton, Cristine Shaw, and Laura Costello; and a nephew, Ronald Palfy, Jr.; great nephews and nieces, Austen, Cody, Tyler, Faith, Bryce, Brianna, and Brayden.
Mike graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor's degree, and later received a master's degree from Nova Southeastern University. He was a longtime teacher at Poinciana High School, where he was actively teaching at the time of his passing. His students and staff were always in his thoughts and heart as family.
Mike's love of people was evident in anyone he met. It is true, he never met a stranger. He had a marvelous sense of humor and could make one laugh in any situation. Memories of Mike and his "Mikeisms" will be passed down for generations to come.
He loved to travel the United States and travel internationally, especially with his daughter Jacqueline at his side. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, and never missed a Steelers or Penguins game on TV or in person.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Ronald Palfy, Sr. and George Palfy, Jr., and nephew Raymond Palfy.
Due to the current environment surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Please check back to this page for updates regarding the dates and time for the memorial.
