Michael Davis Taylor
On Wednesday July 17th, 2019 Michael left this world and went to be with the Lord, he was 62 years old. Michael was the first born son to Redean and Davis Taylor on January 18th 1957 in Lepanto Arkansas. In 1964 the family moved to Deland Florida. Michael attended Colonial High school and played cornet/ Trumpet in the band there. He worked a variety of jobs before settling on a career in law enforcement and becoming a Correctional Officer and certified deputy. He served 18 years at 33rd street jail before retiring from there and began working part time as a security officer at Wells Fargo Bank as well as care taker for of his wife of 41 years Darlene.
Michael loved God, his wife, and family, his friends as well as his Country dearly.
Michael had a passion for music he began singing at a very early age and playing guitar at age 7 he had a God given talent and played guitar by ear. He was in many bands through out the years in a variety of genres. He loved beautiful clothes and beautiful things, Michael enjoyed watching movies, NASCAR, wrestling and football. Michael enjoyed any new experience and trying any new food he was loved by everyone who met him, his personality, charisma and charm drew people to him.
His favorite musical artists were the Beatles, Rush, Mark Farner, Journey, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and many more. He loved worship music as well as old Southern Gospel. He loved traveling and had the honor of being part of a mission's trip to Slovakia in 2000 with FCC. He loved being part of the worship team at church.
He delighted in family get togethers and light hearted fun and loved playing games.
He was preceeded in death by his Father Davis Taylor, they adored one another.
He is survived by his wife Darlene Hylton Taylor, His only daughter Melody Lanae, Three grand children Adriana, Christian and Jessica. (Whom he lovingly referred to as Snookie, Bubba and Baby bop.) His Son in Law Chris, His Mother Redean Taylor, two sisters Angie and Cathy and their families as well as all his friends and family at church, work and all over Orlando.
Visitation is Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 5pm to 7pm with funeral service starting at 7pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions (East Orlando Chapel).
