Miguel Angel Resto, or better known to his family as "Papi, Olo, and Papa Uh," passed in peace at age 91 in Orlando, Florida, on July 16, 2020. He was born on December 15, 1928, in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico, to Rafaela Mijón Rivera and Estanislao Resto Lopez. Miguel Sr. was the tenth of thirteen brothers and sisters and spent his childhood helping on the family farm until his late teenage years when he moved to New York City. During his time in New York, he joined the army.
He is survived by his devoted wife of over 55 years, Gloria M. Resto; was a loving father and father-in-law to: Ariel and Elizabeth "Liz" Resto, Elizabeth Ferrer Resto, Miguel Jr. and Lucy Resto, and Al and Glorimar Jeffcoat; was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren: Amber, Cinder, Crystal, Alexandra, Louisa, Sarah, Miguel the III, Gabriel, Cynthia, and Alyssa; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Miguel Angel Resto served the Lord for over 60 years and strived to serve in all ways throughout his life. He has served in many different positions at the church, such as a teacher and superintendent for the Sunday school, a secretary, treasurer, president of missions, and leader of the men's group at the church. Outside of the church, his profession was as a lithographer in print shops, which allowed him to serve the church in many ways, such as providing fliers to advertise church events, and make many other charitable donations. He was an extraordinary man with a strong character, an outstanding sense of humor that made everyone laugh, and a remarkable zest for life. Our family would like to thank everyone who made his life wonderful.
Miguel Angel Resto always said, "to die is to gain." (Philippians 1:21) He is gone but never forgotten.
