Mildred Lois Bell passed away on July 3, 2014. Born May 21, 1929 to Emory and Mildred Lavender at Orange Memorial Hospital. Family moved to St. Pete where she graduated in 1947 from St. Pete High. As a secretary to the St. Pete Saints Baseball Club, she met her future husband, Fred C.Bell, who preceded her in death in 1994. They were married in Balboa, Panama Canal Zone where Fred played in the Professional Winter Baseball League.
Lois was a member of the First United Methodist Church, The Pendergras Turner Sunday School Class, The United Methodist Women, and the Sears Retiree Club. She was a 6th generation member of the pioneer Patrick family and an avid Gator fan.
Lois was preceded in death by a baby daughter Linda, her son Allen, her sister Louise Love, and brothers Emory and Lester Lavender. She is survived by her daughters Becky, Brenda, Cathy and Annie, grandchildren Jerald, Brooke, Derek, Kevin, Ellie, Andrew, Samantha, Patrick, Christen and Hannah, great grandchildren Keegan, Ashlyn & Darren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to First United Methodist Church, or Lake Hill Cemetery Association.
Family will receive visitors from 4-8 pm on Monday, July 7th at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando, FL. Funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 142 E. Jackson St., Orlando, on Tuesday, at 10:00 am. Burial will immediately follow a Lake Hill Cemetery in Orlando.
