Miriam B. Tranchita was born on Easter Sunday April 4, 1926 and passed away on January 30, 2016 after an extended illness. She is affectionately known as "Mimi" by her family and friends. She is a devout Christian and regularly attended St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Mimi was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Tranchita, Sr. in 1971 and by her parents, Emil Kuehn, Jr. and Anna Kuehn and by her sister Shirley Swanson.
Mimi performed on stage with the Sweet Adelines singing group and was the Administrator for the judges at the Kane County Courthouse in Aurora, Illinois for many years before she relocated to Palm Valley in Oviedo, Florida where she was very active. She designed and created fabric accessories for the home and created works of art including oil paintings and pottery.
She is survived by her son Joseph J. Tranchita, Jr. (Angie) her daughter Judith Aakeberg (Jerry), her grandchildren, Robert Stubblefield, Jr. and the Tranchita family, Joseph (the third), Julianna, Pamela, Angie, Justin, Jonathan, Elliot, Joshua and Sierra Marie Tranchita. She also has several cousins, one niece Suzanne Soukup, 27 great grandchildren and her great- great granddaughter Aaliyah Rose Stubblefield is 2 years old.
Mimi Tranchita will be laid to rest with her husband in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Aurora, Illinois. The visitation service will be held on February 12, 2016 at the Dunn Family Funeral Home at 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, Illinois 60543 between 11:00am and 2:00pm followed by the funeral service and procession to Lincoln Memorial Park.
