Con profunda tristeza anunciamos el fallecimiento de Mirian Mejía, quien partió de este mundo en paz el 10 de noviembre de 2024 en Orlando, Florida. Tenía 81 años. Nació el 14 de abril de 1943 en Bánica, Elías Piña, República Dominicana, donde dejó una huella imborrable. Mirian fue una mujer excepcional, esposa dedicada, madre amorosa, abuela cariñosa y bisabuela adorada. Durante 51 años compartió su vida con su amado esposo, Juan González.
Fue una mujer visionaria y emprendedora. En su pueblo, fue pionera al usar pantalones y llevar el pelo corto, desafiando las convenciones de su época. Su visión de progreso la llevó a salir de su país a estudiar cosmetología y emigrar a Estados Unidos, donde crió a sus hijos y ayudó a muchos de sus familiares a construir una nueva vida.
Su pasión por la belleza la llevó a convertirse en una destacada cosmetóloga, dedicando muchos años a realzar la apariencia de miles de personas. Con su talento y calidez, ayudó a miles de personas a sentirse más seguros y hermosos. Además de su habilidad artística, Miriam era una excelente cocinera y costurera. Su famoso arroz con leche era el favorito de todos los que lo probaban.

Obituary of Mirian Mejia
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mirian Mejia, who peacefully left this world on November 10, 2024 in Orlando, Florida. She was 81 years old. She was born on April 14,1943 in Bánica, Elías Piña, Dominican Republic, where she left an indelible mark. Miriam was an exceptional woman, a dedicated wife, loving mother, caring grandmother and adored great-grandmother. For Fifty-One years she shared her life with her beloved husband, Juan Gonzalez.
She was a visionary and entrepreneurial woman. In her town, she was a pioneer in wearing pants and short hair, defying the conventions of her time. Her vision of progress led her to leave her country to study cosmetology and emigrate to the United States, where she raised her children and helped many of her relatives build a new life.
Her passion for beauty led her to become a leading cosmetologist, dedicating many years to enhancing the appearance of thousands of people. With her talent and warmth, she helped thousands of people feel more confident and beautiful. In addition to her artistic ability, Mirian was an excellent cook and seamstress. Her famous rice pudding was a favorite of all who tried it.
Mirian was a cheerful and lively person. She enjoyed singing, dancing, and sharing special moments with her loved ones. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
