Monica Gail Mealey, age 71, passed away at Advent Health Rollins Hospice Unit, Monday Evening, December 5th, 2022 due to complications associated with Metastatic Breast Cancer. Her son was at her side when she took her last breath. She fought till the very end. Her strength and determination will not be forgotten. While the cancer continued to spread throughout her body she maintained a positive attitude, she refused pity. She smiled and pushed through despite the pain and side effects she struggled with daily. She was a true Warrior to the very end and should be remember as such.
She was the Beloved Wife to William (Bill) Mealey, Married 53 yrs, Loving Mother to her son's. Eldest Son, Billy Mealey, his Wife Misty, thier two children, Billie Marie and Chance. Her Youngest Son, Steven Mealey, his wife, Amanda Spain, and their two children, Hunter and Shelby. She was an Amazing Mema to all four of her Grandchildren.
From school plays, baseball, softball, lacrosse, football, gymnastics, weightlifting, and award ceremonies, if it involved her Grandchildren she was there. She will also be missed by her friends and co workers within the Travelers Community, at age 17, it was her first and only job that she retired from in 2016, after 48 years of service. Her greatest joys were spending time with family and friends. Especially her four grandchildren.
We were truly lucky to have had this amazing, strong, compassionate loving woman be in our lives for so very long. And now she'll go on to live in our hearts forever.
All Friends, Family, and Supporters are all invited to attend a Celebration of Life in January, date and time to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Russell Home, 510 Holden Avenue, Orlando, FL. 32839, an organization Gail felt strongly about.
