Monte Earl Taylor Jr., age 74, passed away on October 19, 2024. He was born on July 6, 1950, in Grand Junction, Colorado. From a young age, he traveled around the country and found success playing in his band, “Quantrell.” His love for music spanned decades, and he played alongside his wife and two of his children in his most recent band "Nuff Said" until May of 2024.

Monte was a man of deep values. He prioritized forgiveness and instilled in his children the importance of gratitude. He had a remarkable way of making everyone around him feel special and loved, which earned him countless friendships throughout his life. His warm spirit and kind heart drew people to him, and those friendships were cherished.

He was a talented drummer, singer, piano player, and published author. Beyond music, he enjoyed coaching businesses and discussing politics, visiting his friends across the country, and always starting his day with the morning newspaper. One of his cherished daily rituals was making coffee for his beloved wife, Penny Taylor.

He is survived by his wife, Penny Taylor, and his six children: Andrea Taylor Seiler, Nick Studebaker, Chris Taylor, Eric Taylor, Austin Taylor, and Delaney Taylor. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Logan Taylor, Sidney Rodgers-Taylor, Cheyenne Seiler, Chase Seiler, Breann and Brittney, as well as multiple great-grandchildren and his siblings Mike Taylor, Darlene Taylor, and Suzzanne Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Monte Earl Taylor Sr. and Joanne Bourg, and his brother, Jeff Taylor.

Monte’s passion for music, movement, conversation, and the joy of everyday moments will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
