Myrtle Leigh Mitchell Lassiter was a strong and sweet Christian Patriot who led an amazingly full life.
Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great and Great-Great Grandmother, had been a Second Lieutenant Army nurse during WWII as well as a civilian RN. Myrtle leaves behind sisters and four generations as she did not smoke or drink, and almost made it to her 101st birthday, still enjoying singing, reading, and loving her family to her last day.
Over the years she was involved in many civic women's clubs including Garden club, Homemakers, 4-H, Good Neighbors, and DAR. She sewed, drew and oil painted, wrote poetry, and had other creative ways, and was a loving person with a kind word for everyone.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Lynn Lassiter; grandson, Paul William Bramer; grandson, Jake William Bramer; great-granddaughter, Cynthia Entress; great-granddaughter, Alix Bramer; great-grandson, Nick Bramer; great, great-granddaughter, Juniper Lyn Entress; great, great-grandson, Charles Arlo Entress; sister, Willie "Juanita" Rowe; sister, Addie "Irene" Jordan; sister, Joan Edwards; sister, Vera Raines; and a large number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruffin Mitchell and Vega Jane Mitchell; husband, Jake William Lassiter, Jr.; daughter, H. Catherine "Cat" Bramer; sister, Linda Jones; brother, Lester Mitchell; brother, Robert Mitchell; brother, Haywood Mitchell; and brother, Elbert Mitchell.
