Nancy Elizabeth Piedrahita, age 58, of Orlando, Florida passed away at her home while surrounded by her family on Monday, April 30, 2018 after a long, courageous battle with brain cancer.
Nancy was born on May 23, 1959, in Groton, CT, but has called Florida, "home" for most of her life.
She is survived by her husband, the love of her life, Carlos Dario Piedrahita; her three daughters, Elizabeth Vanderploeg, Annie Williams, and Andrea Piedrahita; and the ones who gave her the most joy, her four grandchildren; Ethan, Dylan, Isaiah and Kimberly; and of course, her cat, Lucy.
Nancy and her family loved vacationing at the beach and spent time most summers there together. She and her husband, Carlos, loved to travel and each year she would choose a special place for them to explore. Her most valued time was having family gatherings at home where she would cook a beautiful meal that was loved and enjoyed by all. And let's not get started on the delicious desserts! She was a proud hairstylist for many years, and was loved by her clients and also her special second family of coworkers. Nancy will always be remembered as the life of the party with her infectious laugh, and as a loving and giving mother, wife, and friend.
Friends are welcome to come celebrate Nancy's life and visit with the family on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando, FL 32822.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks everyone to please make donations in Nancy's name to Pet Rescue by Judy.
