Nicholas Stanley Damuth

November 16, 1987 — March 22, 2017

Nicholas Stanley Damuth, who was known to all his loved ones as Nick; "Nicky" to his mother, was born on November 16, 1987 in Hollywood, Florida to his loving mother Lesley Gonzales, and his Father, Mark Damuth. However, he grew up and considered his hometown, Lake Mary, FL. Nick was full of life and laughter and was the best son, brother, and friend you could ever ask for. Nick walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 22, 2017, at the age of 29. Nick was very much a proud Christian and even from a very young age he would speak freely about God and Jesus as his faith was always important to him.

Nick is survived by his mother, Lesley Gonzales, his father, Mark Damuth and his Step-Father, Ronnie Gonzales who helped raise him from a young age; his brothers Daniel, Bryce, Bryan, and Joseph and his sisters, Amanda "Mandy", Elizabeth, and Bryanne; grandfather, David Qualls and grandfather, Chester Damuth; and numerous aunts and uncles, His Aunt Shelley King and family and his Uncle David "Sonny" Qualls II are two that should have special mention as they loved him dearly. Nick's Grandmother Benita "Bonny" Qualls, who he loved dearly, had already passed in December of 2012; Nick was also survived by his girlfriend, Danielle Weldon and her son Malakhi Davis.

Nick's biggest passion was his family. Nick would go out of his way to help anyone of his family members if they were in need. He was truly the happiest when he was helping or doing something nice for the people he loved. He was always the first one to offer help and it genuinely made him feel good. He was always there to offer help for his friends too, even when he didn't have much to give, even if it was his last few dollars.

Nick was closest with his mother Lesley, and they really did have such an amazing special bond and relationship. Anyone that knew Nick knew that he proudly loved his Momma more than anything in the world. They could talk for hours about anything and everything. She never failed to remind him regularly, that he was a very special person and had a heart of gold. She would often tell him that perhaps they both cared so much and maybe even too much and that was a good thing and never apologize for it. Nicky knew that his "Momma Dukes" was his biggest fan and always had his best interest at heart and would never stop believing in him. He was always so excited to attend family functions and help out as much as he could.

Nick had a big family with many brothers and sisters. He cherished his relationship with each and every one of them and it was important to him that they knew it. He was closest with his brother Daniel and his sister, Amanda, "Mandy" who were Lesley's other two children. They grew up together and were fortunate to have had the opportunity to be together through all of lives ups and downs, trials and tribulations and important events. They had a very close family upbringing with their mother Lesley. Her children were her pride and joy and Nick was the big brother of their little family. He was dearly cherished by all of them. He was a very important part of their lives. Mandy and Danny so looked up to their brother and the three of them had a very special bond of their own. Like most brothers and sisters, they had good times and bad, sometimes fighting like cats and dogs, but the goods times always shined through the strongest and no matter what, it always ended up in nothing but love.

Their Step-Father Ronnie became a huge part of their lives when they were still pretty young, Nick was just 7 years old. They all immediately loved Ronnie and Nick very much looked up to him. Nick said on many occasions that he looked up to Ronnie and that he was the best man he ever knew. Nick had so much respect for him and was grateful to have him as his step-father. He loved him dearly. Ronnie took great pride in teaching Nick things along their journey that was molded into a beautiful family. Nick often came to his Step-Father for advice and guidance because he knew Ronnie had nothing but his best intentions at heart and he valued his opinion greatly.

Nick always made it a priority to keep in touch and have a close relationship with his entire family. His birth father, Mark, two of his siblings, and cousins who all reside in Ohio, were also very important to him. He valued his relationships tremendously with every single family member, no matter if they were immediate family, lived nearby, or lived long distant.

Not only was Nick an amazing son, brother, nephew, and cousin, but he was also the best father to his girlfriend's son Malakhi. He spent so much quality time with him, teaching him how to ride his bike, taking him for milkshakes, and making his lunch every single day for school. Nick genuinely loved him as his own son. He had so much love for his little man, "Khi" and his lifelong "love of his life" Danielle. It was a beautiful thing to see. He often said that he wanted nothing more than to do right by them. He had hoped they'd marry, get a piece of land to call their own and have more children together.

Nick valued providing and working hard for a living, but at the end of the day, his true passion was always his family. He also had a strong passion to help others. It's hard to say what Nick was best at because he was exceptionally good at so many things. He was extremely intelligent and was really very good at everything he tried or did. So many people, including employers and others that didn't even have a chance to know him that long, always recognized the quality in him right from the beginning.

Nick was an avid lover of sports and during his young life, he played football and basketball. He was a huge football fan who loved the Vikings and the FSU Seminoles. He would get so excited when football season was coming up. He loved participating in several of the various Fantasy Football type leagues, which he was also very good at. He had it down to a science. In his pass time, he loved playing poker and always dreamed of playing in tournaments professionally, as he was so incredibly good at that as well. He was so very smart and talented at so many things. It was only recently discovered that he was an unbelievably talented painter. Another of his passions was cooking. He had journals full of recipes. He had taken a culinary class and received his certification award, which he was very proud of and couldn't wait to show his mother.

Nick will be greatly missed by every single person that had the wonderful opportunity of knowing him. He was so intelligent, loving, funny, and caring. Nick's caring spirit and desire to help others will be his legacy that continues on. He had made the unselfish decision to be an organ donor. He has forever changed the lives of three families who's loved ones received Nick's gift of life! One of the families received his heart and they will truly be blessed forever with such a precious gift! Nick truly had a heart made of gold and Heaven shined a little bit brighter the day he arrived into the loving arms of God.
