Norma Iris Bonet

July 10, 1957 — January 7, 2021

Norma Iris Bonet, 63, of Orlando, FL, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the age of 63. Norma was born to parents Felipa (Felipita) Cardona and Julio Ortiz Alicea on July 10,1957 in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico.

Norma is the second oldest out of eight children. After graduating Rafael Nicolau High School in 1975, Norma left Puerto Rico and traveled the world. She studied in the field of Lead Electronic Assembler, where she worked in many companies, and most recently working and retiring with TopTech System in Longwood, FL. She was a devoted Catholic at the St. Isaac Catholic Church and St. James Cathedral. Norma was always close to God, and lived by his word and let his words guide her. Norma was a fun, loving, spiritual, and forever smiling woman. Always happy and never let anything put her down. She was strong and a fighter and never gave up, even with battling Lupus and other illnesses for 34 years. Norma touched everyone's heart that she met and her smile would always brighten a room. She loved jokes and making people laugh, and you always felt better after speaking with her.

Norma is survived by her Husband, Son, Brothers and Sisters.

She was a loving wife to Hector Bonet (Jun) for 36 years, married on June 4th, 1985 in Colorado Springs, CO and married under Holy Marriage in the church of St. Isaac in Orlando, FL on June 4th, 2010. Norma and Hector's everlasting marriage was an example to many, and their love story is one that will never end. Norma and Hector did everything together, and were rarely seen without the other. Drinking coffee in the morning and talking was their favorite time. Daytrips to walk the beach and breathe the salt air was their favorite weekend getaway. Their love was like no other and one that will continue even after death.

Norma is also survived by her son, Victor Omar Sanchez (El Nene). She was an amazing mother that always showed unconditional love and there was nothing that she would not do for her son. Always referring to him as, "El Nene" no matter how old he was, he was always her little kid and was Norma's only child. Norma and her son would talk every morning and sometimes even three times a day. The bond that the two had was more than just a mother and son, but more like friends.

Norma is survived by her three grandchildren Jozel Sanchez, Aracely Sanchez and Miguel Sanchez. Her grandchildren were her world and happiness. She would always call the kids to talk to them on video chat, and when the grandkids came to the house she would always have candy and money for them. There is nothing Norma wouldn't do for her grandkids. Aracely Sanchez is her only granddaughter, and she loved spoiling her and it's amazing how much she looks like Norma. Jozael has her sense of humor, and is always happy and making jokes. And Miguel is her first grandchild who has her calm and loving nature.

Norma was the second oldest sister to her eight siblings, Julio Cesar Ortiz, Jose Antonio Ortiz, Lyllian Ortiz, Militon Ortiz, Nelson Ortiz, Evilia Ortiz, Nitza Ortiz Hernandez. She was always more than a sister to her siblings but more like a mother to them especially after her mothers passed away. Always thinking of her family first and keeping the family united. She always called and kept in contact with her siblings and made sure that they were taken care of.
