Norman Lloyd Hookway, 92, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on June 9th, 2018.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty N. Hookway; his daughter Norma Jean (Sam) Torres; Karen Lynn (Kevin) Gourley; his sister Phyllis (David) Clouse; granddaughters Tami Jean Whitehurst, Samantha Elizabeth (George) Paradis, and grandson Brian Alan Torres; great-grandchildren Bayli, Maddox, Enzo, and Parker. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Samuel and Ethyl Hookway; siblings Esther, Sarah, Dortha, Jim, Harvey, Carl, and Marjorie.
He was born in Canton, Ohio on February 22, 1926 where he was raised on a dairy farm. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was decorated with a Purple Heart. In 1950 he married the love of his life, Betty. In 1958 he and his family moved to Orlando, Florida where he continued to serve as a letter carrier to the residents of Winter Park, Florida. He was a member of the Aloma Church, and had been since 1971.
He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He always put his family first, and they meant the world to him.
