Oscar Burton, age 74 of Orlando passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005. Born in Knoxville, TN
in 1930, he graduated from Rule High, Knoxville, TN, Class of 1950 and always looked forward
to attending their annual reunions. He retired to Central Florida in 1973 after proudly serving 23 years in the USAF. He was a member of Masonic Lodge in Orlando.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Johanna Burton; children Thomas and Joyce Burton of
Longwood, FL, Hans and Denise Burton of Port St. Lucie, FL; Shirley Burton of Orlando;
Robert and Gundi Brendle of Munich, Germany; brother, Harry Burton of Salinas, CA; sisters,
Viola Hudson and Johnnie Dill both of Knoxville, TN; niece Linda Ibold of Orlando was more daughter
than niece; Linda's husband Bob; grandchildren Patrick and Melissa Ireland, Ashley, Christina and Savannah Burton, Nicole and Dominic Brendle; great-grandchildren James and Jack Ireland; Patti Kacher who was like a daughter; numerous nieces and nephews in Orlando, Knoxville, Chicago, Boston and Atlanta. To his sons and daughters he was Dad; his brothers and sisters called him Junior; his nieces and nephews knew him as Uncle Junior; to his grandchildren he was simply PePa or
Opa; and to his friends he was Oscar. By his many names, he will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humor and devotion to his family. We will miss him.
The family welcomes friends to celebrate his life at 4PM on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005 in the Chapel of
Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd. Orlando. In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2010 Mizell Ave. Winter Park, FL 32792-4119.
