Oscar James (Jim) Krause passed away peacefully just as the sun set in the comfort of his home in Apopka, Florida, surrounded by family on Sunday, September 10, 2023.
Jim was born to Albert and Marie Krause on February 19, 1940 in Zanesville, OH. He has one surviving sister, Connie Longstreet, who lives in Wattsburg, PA. His parents and other three siblings, Virginia Rotthoff, Martin and Floyd Krause have preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen, daughter Michelle who lives in Marietta, GA and son Jeff who lives in Orlando, FL. He also leaves behind a brother in-law and two sisters in-law, three nieces and their families along with other extended family members.
Jim's was a life filled with service. He began as a teacher and then moved into the pastorate of several churches and finished as a videographer with various employers. He enjoyed the adventures each of these areas of service brought to him and his family. His life included much volunteering as well: singing for many occasions, handling Ham radio emergency relief traffic and patching in phone calls to America for missionaries in other countries, volunteering as a fireman at Station 13, providing for the Channel 24 video needs and helping for many years in support of the of audio-visual needs at his local Forest Lake Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Jim always loved His Lord and wanted to serve Him in whatever way God directed. His was a life well lived. He will be missed by so many.
We deeply appreciate all the love and support shared with us over the past few years. We extend a very special thanks to the Central Florida Lewy Body Dementia Caregivers Group, including Sue and many others. We have been so grateful for our close by neighbors who literally gave Jim a lift during the recent months: Sean Moore, Les McCoy, Kevin and Amanda Easter, Elmer Carreno and Tim Krough. Lastly, the Lord sent Dania Garcia to live with us for the last month of Jim's life to assist with his care.
A grave side service will be held at 10 am, Friday, September 15, 2023, at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery in Gotha, FL.
