Oscar Alberto Tarazona Mejia, 82, of Orlando, FL, passed away on October 9, 2024. Born in Pamplona, Colombia, on May 16, 1942, to Jose Alejandro Tarazona and Edelmira Mejia, he lived a life full of love and laughter.
Oscar married the love of his life, Betty Ramirez de Tarazona, on November 21, 1964. Together, they raised five wonderful children: Leonardo, Diana, Andrea, Carlos, and Felipe Tarazona Ramirez. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Daniel and Paola Tarazona Hernandez, Alejandro and Tomas Pulido Tarazona, Valentina Castro Tarazona, Diego and Camilo Tarazona Napoles, Nicolas, Natalia, and Andres Tarazona Romero, as well as his great-grandchildren, Matias Tarazona Zuluaga and Kai Santiago Castro.
A devoted family man, Oscar was known for his joyful spirit and sense of humor. He enjoyed watching and playing soccer, singing, and dancing, and he had a particular fondness for wings, Colombian food, sweets, cookies and loved a cold beer (checha). As an entrepreneur and accountant, he proudly owned three restaurants in Bogota before moving to Orlando, Florida, in July 2000.
Oscar is survived by his loving wife, Betty, his children and his daughters and sons-in-law: Stella Hernandez, Luis Alberto Pulido, Luis Fernando Gonzalez, Linda Napoles and Maria Eugenia Romero. He is also survived by his siblings, Vilma Tarazona, Betty McDonagh, Ana Ghiber Yepes and Edgar Tarazona. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Betsy, Ivan, Elio, Fernando and Jaime Tarazona Mejia.
Known for his kindness, flirtatious nature, and ability to make everyone laugh, Oscar will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His love for his family, especially Betty, was the cornerstone of his life, and his joyful spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Oscar Alberto Tarazona Mejía, de 82 años, de Orlando, FL, falleció el 9 de octubre de 2024. Nacido en Pamplona, Colombia, el 16 de mayo de 1942, hijo de José Alejandro Tarazona y Edelmira Mejía, vivió una vida llena de amor y risas.
Oscar se casó con el amor de su vida, Betty Ramírez de Tarazona, el 21 de noviembre de 1964. Juntos, criaron a cinco hijos maravillosos: Leonardo, Diana, Andrea, Carlos y Felipe Tarazona Ramirez. Su legado continúa a través de sus queridos nietos, Daniel y Paola Tarazona Hernández, Alejandro y Tomás Pulido Tarazona, Valentina Castro Tarazona, Diego y Camilo Tarazona Napoles, Nicolás, Natalia y Andrés Tarazona Romero, así como sus bisnietos, Matías Tarazona Zuluaga y Kai Santiago Castro.
Un devoto hombre de familia, Oscar era conocido por su espíritu alegre y su sentido del humor. Le gustaba ver y jugar al fútbol, cantar y bailar, y tenía una afición particular por las alitas, la comida colombiana, las galletas y los dulces y amaba la cerveza fría (checha). Como empresario y contador, fue dueño de tres restaurantes en Bogotá antes de mudarse a Orlando, Florida, en julio de 2000.
A Oscar le sobrevive su amada esposa, Betty; sus hijos e hijas; y sus nueras y yernos: Stella Hernandez , Luis Alberto Pulido, Luis Fernando Gonzalez, Linda Napoles y María Eugenia Romero. También le sobreviven sus hermanos, Vilma Tarazona, Betty McDonagh, Ana Ghiber Yepes y Edgar Tarazona. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres y hermanos Betsy, Iván, Elio, Fernando y Jaime Tarazona Mejia.
Conocido por su amabilidad, naturaleza coqueta y capacidad para hacer reír a todos, aquellos quienes lo conocieron extrañarán profundamente a Oscar. Su amor por su familia, especialmente por Betty, quien fue la piedra angular de su vida, y su espíritu alegre vivirá en los corazones de aquellos quienes tuvieron la maravillosa oportunidad de compartir con El.
