Pamela Z. Allen, age 82, of Orlando, FL passed away November 18, 2016.
She was born on May 17, 1934 in Fairfield District, Portland, Jamaica to the late Percival and Doris Barrett. She went to school to become a professional seamstress. Later married, Wilbourne Haylett whom she had 6 children. She migrated to the United States and lived in New York for a short period of time. Relocated to New Jersey and worked at North Jersey Developmental Center as an Environmental Technician. After the loss of her first husband, she remarried to Orvil Allen. She retired to Orlando, FL in 1997.
Pamela was faithful in ministry. She was a choir member for many years, president of the Missionary Ministries, and leader of the Prayer Ministry. Later she became an ordained evangelist. She started a church that later merged with True United Church in Orlando.
Hobbies she enjoyed, sewing, gardening, cooking, singing, and playing the piano. Most of all, she loved caring for her grandchildren. She was a mother to everyone. She will always be lovingly remembered as Mother Allen. Always willing to go to God in prayer for anyone's behalf.
She is also preceded in death by her son, Clifton Haylett; and siblings, Cybill and Euvine.
Pamela is survived by her children, Wilfred Haylett, Jennifer P. Beadle, Michael Haylett, Audrey Haylett, and Richard Haylett; grandchildren, Tarashaun, Melika, Issis, Shanna, Thyronda, Dominick, Auset, Rachel, Travis, Hailey, Aundrè, and Zoon; 6 great grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; siblings, Edgerton, Lemmie, Fitzroy, Metilda, and Nelton; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 10am to 11am and Monday November 28, 2016 from 10:30am to 11:30am with funeral service starting at 11:30am at the Newcomer Funeral Home (East Orlando Chapel). Pamela's favorite colors were green and yellow. On the date of the funeral service, the family invites all guests to incorporate one or both of these colors into their outfits in remembrance of Pamela.
