Patricia Lee Halstead-Moody, 71 passed away May 29, 2013 in Clermont, FL. She was born August 10, 1941 in Pathfork, KY and she was raised in Whitesville, WV. She was the second child of five to Cledith and Mabel Paige Halstead.
After graduation from Sherman High School she attended Tennessee Temple College. There she met her husband Don. They were married May 1, 1961 and she gave birth to two daughters.
Patricia and her husband started their ministry in Charleston, WV at Union Mission and stayed for 1 year. They moved to Jacksonville, Florida as Executive head of the City Rescue Mission for 8 ½ years, then moved back to Huntington, WV to be Executive head of the Huntington City Mission for 5 ½ years. They moved to Orlando Florida in 1978 to be the Executive head of the Orlando Union Rescue Mission. They retired in January 2011, after 32 years of service there; a total of 48 years of service in Rescue Missions. She retired from the Orlando Union Rescue Mission with her husband after he had a serious illness that took him out of service at the Mission.
She was admired by all the Mission Residents because she had a gift of love. She really cared for those who were unlovable and people who desperately needed to have someone to love and care for them. Patricia's passion was to love people who had never experienced true love from another person in life. She endeared herself to hundreds of people over the years. At the end of her life, many of those to whom she had ministered came to visit her. She is a person who demonstrated the love of Jesus to all she met. She and her family were members of First Baptist Church Orlando since September 1978.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Cledith Lee Halstead, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Donald; daughters, LeeDawn Terese Carpenter (Sandy) and LeeTrisha Dawn Koepsell (David); grandchildren, Dustin Wyatt Carpenter, Kristin Lee Carpenter-Prado (Steven), Victori Ann Koepsell, Nathaniel David Koepsell, Jordan Taylor Koepsell and Kimberlee Sue Koepsell; sisters, Virginia Ann Green (Jim)and Dianna Dale Halstead; brother, Cledith Wayne Halstead.

Visitation will be held from 10AM-11AM Monday, June 3, at the Henry Chapel at First Baptist Church of Orlando. Funeral services will begin at 11AM. An open fellowship will follow from 12:30PM-2:30PM at the Orlando Union Rescue Mission, Don and Patricia Moody Chapel, 1805 W. Washington Street, Orlando.
Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
