Patricia May Pelletier "Patty", 57, of Maitland, was called Home on Wednesday, December 9, 2015.
Patty is survived by her husband Chuck Pelletier; daughters, Harmony Montanez and Summer Duran; granddaughter, Lilianna Montanez; sister-in-law, Jan Carey and nephew, Shannon Edwards.
Patty lived her life for others beginning as a kindergarten teacher where God molded her into a Daycare Director where she was able to then inspire more than 175 children. At the same time she maintained the Children Church Minister position at Deeper Life Assembly. Her dedication to not only her own, but to other children, led her to move onto becoming a personal nanny to several children over the next 20 years; Sophie, Olivia, Kyla, Lauren and Sydney have all grown to be fabulous young ladies who were all inspired by Patty. During this time she studied hard and diligently pursued her Associates of the Arts degree in Biblical Studies, being awarded in 2005, her degree from Southwest Bible College and Seminary. She spread her wings and transferred to CrossPointe Church where she continued to fulfill her calling in leading children to Christ.
Patty was always the life of the party and was never afraid to express herself. She made many laugh and taught many so much more. She was a loving, caring and patient wife and an incredibly attentive mother, even after working with other children all day long. She loved anything involving the church; running the Annual Fall Festival, leading Vacation Bible School and being a beautiful voice on the church's worship team. She was also in love with the outdoors exploring the world above through camping and going on cruises around the world, while exploring the world below through her many scuba diving excursions. She was loved by many and has made more lifelong friends than most of us can only pray to be able to obtain. She lived her life through her love and faith in Jesus Christ, even stating at the very end that "every day is a fabulous day!"
Patty was also a fighter. She was originally diagnosed in 2007 with appendiceal carcinoma. Although this was a devastating diagnosis, Patty was not phased. She started chemo therapy immediately, quitting after seven cycles. She experienced a miraculous healing one afternoon and believed that God had healed her. She soon went back to the doctor and had a scan completed with the results showing that the cancer was nowhere to be found! The doctors could not explain but Patty could, it was a miracle. She lived six years cancer free and in 2012 she started experiencing mysterious pain in her abdomen. After multiple tests, doctor's found that the cancer had returned. Again the diagnosis looked grim but Patty never wanted to give up. She kept her positive attitude, even though she was in constant pain. She lived three more fabulous years during which she was able to attend her youngest daughter's wedding and witness the birth first granddaughter. She proved the doctors wrong every chance she got and loved every second of it. She was called Home to be with her Savior while she comfortably rested in her own bed at home, surrounding by loving faces. She will be missed daily and never forgotten.
Patty never wanted a funeral but instead a "colorful celebration" of her life. This celebration will take place on Saturday 12/19/2015 from 12-5pm, open to the public. Guests are asked to bring an appetizer to share and are asked to come wearing festive colors and a smile, ready to fellowship and celebrate Patty's fulfilling life.
