Beatty, Paul E., 82, of Winter Park, Florida, passed away on May 25, 2004. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, he moved to Central Florida in 1965. He retired from the United States Navy after 26 years and was a POW in WWII. After he retired from the Navy, he began his new career as a letter carrier and retired after 26 years with the Postal Service. After retiring he volunteered in the Pharmacy at the VA Clinic. Paul is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Beatty; daughters, Eileen Beatty, Christine Benschoter, and Jackie Maas; son, Michael Beatty; stepchildren, Charles Langton, Beth Rossell, and Barbara Gurley; a sister, Helen Ritchie; 25 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be conducted on Saturday, May 29, 2004 at 10:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 5300 Old Howell Branch Road, Winter Park. Family will receive friends on Friday, May 28 from 6 to 9PM with a wake service at 7PM at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the America Cancer Society, Orlando Metro Unit, 1601 W. Colonial Dr., Orlando, Fl 32804-7005, or to American Red Cross, 5 N. Bumby Ave., Orlando, Fl 32803.
