Paul Sebert, age 81, of Orlando, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando. He was the loving husband of Ann Sebert.
Paul was born on August 30, 1938 in Calera, AL, son of the late Frank and Pauline (Taylor) Sebert. He honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1962 to 1964. Additionally, he served seven years in the Army National Guard. On November 19, 1965, he married the former Ann Wiggins. He most recently worked as an audio visual engineer for Lockheed Martin until his retirement.
Paul traveled on at least seven international missions trips to serve in building, painting, and offering support to the various ministries. His life's goal was to serve others, and by doing so, share the love of Christ with them. Paul was known for making friends with everyone he met, inviting them to church, and having a servant's heart.
Besides church, Paul's other passions were his family, Alabama football, and golf. After his retirement, he enjoyed serving others, and golfing with his buddies. Paul was always smiling, always joking, and had many catch phrases; probably the most famous one being, upon your departure, "See you in the funny papers."
Besides his wife of 54 years, Ann, Paul is survived by his son, Paul D. Sebert and his wife, Melissa, of Orlando; three grandchildren, Will Brooks, David Sebert, and Maggie Sebert; two sisters, Mary Cooley of Birmingham, AL, and Lucy Sebert-Espinosa; and his brother, James Sebert and his wife, Sheila, of Bessemer, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Leigh Anne Brooks; and a brother, Johnny Sebert.
Funeral Services are Friday, January 24, 2020 at 11:00 am at Orlando Baptist Church, 500 S. Semoran Boulevard, Orlando, with Pastor Dustin Janney officiating.
Visitation with the family will precede the service on Friday, January 24 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church.
Committal services with full military honors will be on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 11:00 am at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, Florida 32754 with interment to follow.
