Peggy Dianne (Spurgeon) Cicero, age 75, of Orlando passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 30, 2023 after a five and a half year battle with a brain tumor (glioblastoma).
Peggy was born on November 2, 1947 in Gadsden, Alabama, daughter of James Myron and Izell Mize Spurgeon. Her early years were spent moving around the United States with her two older brothers, mother, and step-father, Jerrell McGowan, who was in the US Navy. In 1964, they moved to Orlando where she met the love her life, Ron Cicero. They were married on October 28, 1967 and remained so until her passing.
Peggy worked for the Xerox Corp for 37 years before retiring as a Training Specialist in 2006. After retiring from Xerox, she worked for five years as an Administrative Assistant for TOC Productions, the company behind the musical comedy play, "Menopause the Musical." Her last job was working for Westminster Communities of Florida, where she worked until 2019 when she retired due to her illness.
She was a proud, loving mother to her daughter, Angela, and son, Kevin, both of Orlando. Because of her sincere outgoing personality, and "Alabama Charm", she was loved by everyone she met.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her three brothers, David Spurgeon, Ronnie Spurgeon, and Randy McGowan.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Ron; daughter, Angela Cicero (Matt Clarke); son Kevin Cicero (Amy); and sister, Delores Smith.
A private family ceremony will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando Chapel followed by interment at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, FL.
A celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date.

Glioblastoma Foundation.
