Penelope I. Adrien

Penelope I. Adrien, age 89, of Davenport, FL. passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 29, 2024. She was born on November 5, 1935, in Akron, OH, to the late C. Marshall and Lucilla B. Ingram.

Penelope, known to many as a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, will be deeply missed by her three sons—Gary Jones (Sandy), Bruce Jones (Nancy), and Michael Jones—as well as her cherished grandchildren, Joseph Jones, Daniel Jones, and Emily Jones. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur Adrien, and her dear sister, Marlene (DeDe) Smith.

Throughout her life, Penelope was known for her kind spirit, a strong work ethic, and her love for helping others. She enjoyed a varied career, including sales and real estate roles, and was most notably the proud owner of a gourmet shop in Sarasota, FL. Penelope’s love for people and her vibrant personality touched all who met her.

As a young girl growing up in upstate New York, Penelope developed a lifelong passion for horses. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling with her beloved husband, Art, and tending to her many plants. She found great joy in the company of her close friends Edna, Diane, and Doris (aka, “Golden Girls”), especially during their spirited Wii bowling games.

Penelope’s warmth, humor, and generosity of spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. Her love for her family and friends will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

Penelope will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Art, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
