Pete was born on August 16, 1943 in Detroit, MI to Peter and Vera Porta. He graduated from Grosse Pointe South and soon joined the army. In 1980 he made a significant change and moved to Florida to become a senior engineer at the Kennedy Space Center. He then started a construction company specializing in custom homes, got his general contractor license and formed Papillon Enterprises Inc. which was his passion.
Pete was a very well-traveled man keeping up with Chris who always had a new adventure planned. His favorite place in the world was journeying through Italy and enjoying food along the way. Nothing compared to his love and excitement of making his famous spaghetti sauce which all of his family and friends will remember him by. Above all else Pete loved God and loved people.
