Philip Harold Hutchings departed this mortal realm on Wednesday, June 8th, 2022 at the age of 56. His passing was extremely sudden and as in life, his passing was just the way that he would have wanted to leave for Heaven - in his own home with his family. He was born in Royal Oak, MI on May 19, 1966 to Ammon Harold Hutchings and Janet Mae (Finch) Hutchings.
Philip leaves behind two sons, Philip and Devon; two step-sons, Mark and Tanner; one grandson, Miller; his uncle, Allen Thompson; three sisters, Debbie Haas, Donna Hutchings and Janelle Hutchings; brothers-in-law, Eugene and Mike; five nieces, and two nephews. He leaves behind his most beloved wife and partner, Rachel (Baker) Hutchings of over 20 years together, and 14 years of marriage. He leaves behind countless friends, for everyone he met was his friend.
Philip volunteered for just about everything, especially if it had to do with his sons or his wife. Soccer, baseball, volleyball - he was there helping and coaching. He volunteered at the schools, and with the Longwood community activities on different committees for the City, the Historic District, and Leisure services. He would cook for the monthly car show on occasion and help with fundraising.
Philip was passionate about his wife and made everyday special with the smallest things. He married his wife Rachel (Baker) on October 14, 2008 on Sanibel Island. He was passionate about his sons, family, food and cooking (and feeding everyone), traveling the oceans, his friends and his faith.
Philip simply loved everyone he met and was an instant friend to all. He loved animals and they loved him (he was Dr. Doolittle). He loved cars, technology, fishing, gardening, going to the beach and relaxing, watching Devon grow and teaching him about life. He loved trying new things.
But most of all, Philip, loved being a father, an uncle and a caring, passionate husband.
Funeral Services are Friday, June 17th, 2022 at 3:30 pm at Sanlando United Methodist Church in Longwood. Visitation with the family will precede the service from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm at the church.
If you would like to make a donation to Devon on behalf of his father for his future, there is a Facebook Fundraiser and a Go Fund Me account. The monies will be invested on his behalf to be given to him upon his maturity.
