Philip Eugene Murphy was born to Harry and Vivian Murphy on July 2, 1938 in Fort Fairfield, Maine. He served in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and went on to serve in the United States Air Force for four years. While serving in the Air Force Phil met the love of his life, Marjorie they married and had two children, Lorrie Murphy of Auroa, CO., and Sherry Holmes of Orlando, FL. Phil is survived by his six grandchildren: Christopher Lehr, Philip Heller, Justin Heller, Mallory Webb, Caroline Holmes, and Ciara Holmes.
Phil's profressional endevors entailed 28 years in law enforcement, where he spent 18 years at the Orange County Sheriff's Office, and 10 years with the National Park Service.
Phil's hobbies include flying his helicopter, playing with his dog, Buster, spending time with family and friends and enjoying talking with out of town friends on the phone. Phil was also an avid gun collector and loved to talk guns.
Phil was a man that brought light and joy into people's lives. His family truly appreciates the outpouring of support, prayers, hugs, and comfort at this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Association in honor of Marjorie Murphy.
